Yamaha realigns Motocross World Championship program for 2027

Yamaha Motor Europe has announced a strategic realignment of its Motocross World Championship program for the 2027 season. The manufacturer will transition to managing its MXGP factory team directly, centralizing technical development and daily operations at its new motorsport research and development facility on the Yamaha Campus in Gerno di Lesmo, Italy.

As part of this restructuring, Yamaha is ending its factory involvement in the MX2 World Championship with immediate effect to concentrate resources on the premier MXGP class. The company also plans to restructure its EMX250 and EMX125 programs. Yamaha expressed gratitude to the Kemea and Hutten Metaal teams for their past contributions, which included multiple manufacturer titles and an MX2 world championship.
