Yamanakako Fireworks Festival Kicks Off in Fuji Region

The opening night of the Yamanakako Fireworks Festival was held on August 2, 2026 at Lake Yamanakako in the northern foothills of Mount Fuji. About 10,000 fireworks, including star mines and rapid‑fire displays, were launched from the lake, lighting up the sky and water. The event attracted families and domestic and international tourists, creating a lively atmosphere.

The festival is part of a series of fireworks shows around the Fuji Five Lakes, with subsequent events scheduled at Saiko on August 3, Motosu on August 4, Shojiko on August 5, and Kawaguchi on August 6.
