Yamanashi Prefecture to host Zattoten 2026 art exhibition

Yamanashi Prefecture will host the third annual ‘Zattoten’ art exhibition, titled ‘Exploring the Streets and Art of Kofu 2026,’ from October 17 to October 26, 2026. The event features over 500 works created by 10 artists with disabilities from both within and outside the prefecture.

The exhibition is designed to promote social participation and the realization of a symbiotic society by allowing visitors to encounter art while walking through the central streets of Kofu. The works will be displayed across six different venues, including the Yamanashi Design Center, various galleries, and local shops.

An opening ceremony and gallery talks by the artists are scheduled for the first day at the Yamanashi Design Center. To increase accessibility, a 3D walk-through of the exhibition space is planned for release in December, allowing those unable to attend in person to experience the venues virtually.
