Inocencio Belén González surrenders after fatal shooting of ex-partner in Yamasá
Inocencio Belén González, also known as “Cristian el Piñero,” surrendered to authorities in Cotuí after allegedly killing his former partner, Aurelina Valdez García, in Yamasá, Monte Plata province.
The shooting occurred on a Thursday night in the La Colorada community. Valdez, a mother of three, was shot multiple times inside the home of her mother, Primitiva García de los Santos, who was also wounded in the arm during the attack.
Belén claimed he acted in self-defense, alleging that Valdez was with another man when he arrived to retrieve personal belongings and that he was threatened at gunpoint. However, family members and acquaintances described the relationship as marked by possessiveness and threats.
Upon his surrender, police seized a Smith & Wesson revolver and four cartridges. In addition to the homicide investigation, authorities noted that Belén was already being sought for a separate 2023 charge involving the alleged sexual abuse of his daughter.
