Yamile Humar, prominent Colombian actress and writer, dies at 86

Colombian actress, writer, and entrepreneur Yamile Humar has passed away at the age of 86. Her death was confirmed by her daughter, presenter Catalina Aristizábal, who shared the news via social media.

Humar enjoyed a prolific career spanning over five decades in Colombian cinema and television. Her early work in the 1960s included the film ‘Chambú’ and ‘Isla de ensueño’, which was notable as the first color production in Colombia. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, she appeared in various acclaimed productions such as ‘El alférez real’, ‘El caballero de Rauzán’, and ‘Pero sigo siendo el rey’.

In addition to her acting, Humar was an author, publishing books on wellness and aging, including ‘Mil y un secretos de belleza’. In her later years, she maintained a connection with audiences through digital platforms and radio programs. The public media system RTVC expressed condolences, noting her significant contribution to the country's audiovisual heritage.
