Yan Diomandé nearly joined Cancún FC before Real Madrid move
Real Madrid player Yan Diomandé was close to joining Mexico's Cancún FC in 2022, but the move was thwarted by bureaucratic delays regarding visas and institutional paperwork.
At the time, the 15-year-old Ivorian prospect was identified by the Blue Crow Sports Group. Following the failed Mexican transfer, Diomandé was sent to play in Dubai and the United States before joining C.D. Leganés. His subsequent performances led to a transfer to RB Leipzig and eventually a high-profile move to Real Madrid for approximately 125 million euros.
Now 19, Diomandé has become a key figure for Real Madrid, recording three goals and four assists in 12 matches.
