Real Madrid's Yan Diomande transfer stalled by agent dispute
Ivorian winger Yan Diomande, 19, has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid after RB Leipzig accepted a fee reported to exceed €100 million (some sources cite €122 million plus bonuses). The move was expected to be completed in early August.
The transfer has been halted because former agent Max Gradel’s firm Maxidel Management lodged a complaint with FIFA, alleging that Real Madrid negotiated with Roc Nation – Diomande’s current agency – in breach of an existing representation contract. FIFA is now reviewing the case and may grant a provisional licence, postpone the International Transfer Certificate, or block the registration altogether.
Real Madrid says it was unaware of the dispute and is awaiting FIFA’s decision before finalising the deal. All other elements of the transfer – payment terms to Leipzig, Diomande’s contract, and medicals – are reportedly ready.
