YANA-JAPAN launches titanium black kitchen slicer on Makuake

YANA-JAPAN has launched a pre-sale campaign on the crowdfunding platform Makuake for the ‘TITAN CRAFT TSUBASAN Titanium Black Slicer’. The kitchen tool combines specialized manufacturing techniques from two Japanese industrial regions: blade sharpening from Tsubame-Sanjo in Niigata Prefecture and titanium ion plating from Sabae in Fukui Prefecture.

The slicer utilizes ion plating, a surface treatment technology typically used for eyewear and watches, to create a hard ceramic titanium film on the blades. This process protects the edges and maintains sharpness, which is particularly important as the blades are not designed to be resharpened. The product set includes a normal blade for peeling and a fine shredding blade capable of producing 22 strips of 1.3mm width in a single stroke.

The pre-sale period runs from October 17, 2026, to December 27, 2026, with prices starting from 2,800 yen.
