Yandex generated €7 million in Moldova while local branch reported zero revenue
The Yandex group, which dominates the taxi service market in Moldova, generated over 7 million euros in revenue in 2024, according to judicial documents. However, its local registered entity, Ridetech International, reported zero revenue and zero profit for the same period.
Investigations reveal that the company's Moldovan branch reported no sales, no employees, and paid no income tax in 2025. Financial transactions for services like Yandex Go were found to be directed to companies in Dubai and Almaty, Kazakhstan, rather than being processed locally.
The first payment the group made to the Moldovan state budget was not in taxes, but a fine of approximately 40,000 euros paid in October 2026. This fine was imposed by the Competition Council following a refusal by the company to provide driver information during a market investigation.
