Yang Zi discusses career and Magnolia Award win

Actress Yang Zi, the first performer born in the 1990s to win the Magnolia Award for Best Actress for her role in ‘Tree of Life’, recently discussed her career and personal life in an interview with LiTV.

Reflecting on her relationship with her father, Yang described him as both a close friend and a pillar of support, noting that he provides emotional stability during difficult times. Regarding her professional growth, she expressed a desire to pursue more complex, imperfect characters to achieve greater realism in her performances.

Yang also shared insights into the production of her current drama, ‘Jia Ye’, which focuses on the traditional craft of ink making. She noted the production's commitment to authenticity, involving real ink-making processes and calligraphy. Additionally, she spoke about her collaboration with actor Han Dongjun on the song ‘Yuan Shan Dai’ and her intention to take a brief hiatus to recharge after a period of intensive work.
