Yangcheon-gu to host sociologist Sam Richards for K-culture lecture

Yangcheon-gu will host a special lecture by Sam Richards, a sociology professor at Pennsylvania State University and TED speaker, on November 12 at Haenuri Town. The lecture, titled ‘The Value of K-culture That Only Koreans Do Not Know,’ aims to examine the uniqueness and global influence of Korean culture from an outsider's perspective.

As a precursor to the ‘Y Education Fair 2027,’ the event will also explore the educational significance of culture and the arts in the age of artificial intelligence, emphasizing creative thinking and open-mindedness. The lecture is free and open to all residents, with simultaneous Korean-English interpretation provided. Registration begins October 26 via the Yangcheon-gu Lifelong Learning Portal on a first-come, first-served basis.
