Yango Fellowship concludes 2026 program in Abidjan

Yango Group has concluded its 2026 Pan-African Fellowship in Abidjan, a program designed to bridge the gap between STEM education and professional employment for young African talent. The 2026 cohort consisted of 24 fellows selected from over 600 applicants, representing six countries: Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, Ethiopia, Zambia, and Mozambique.

Over a 12-week period, participants received training in artificial intelligence, design thinking, leadership, and project presentation. The fellows worked in mixed-country teams to develop technological solutions for local challenges, including cashless payments for informal transport, digital financial identity for merchants, medicine supply visibility, and smart waste collection.

The program concluded with a pitch day and an awards ceremony featuring a total prize fund of $12,000. The group Africoded received the top team prize of $4,500 for its AI-assisted platform designed to connect African job seekers with cross-border employment and remote work opportunities. This initiative aligns with Yango’s broader investment strategy in the African digital ecosystem, which includes a regional hub in Abidjan.
