Yango partners with AMT to digitalize public transport in Maputo

Yango has partnered with the Agência Metropolitana de Transportes (AMT) to digitalize public transportation information within the Maputo Metropolitan Area in Mozambique. Through a Memorandum of Understanding, the AMT provides essential data regarding routes, stops, and schedules, which Yango then integrates into its SuperApp.

Launched on September 2, the new service allows users to plan trips by viewing available public transport alternatives, including transfer points and estimated travel times. The coverage includes travel between Maputo and surrounding areas such as Zimpeto, Albasine, Costa do Sol, Matola, and Boane.

Mahomed Zameer Adam, Country Manager for Yango Mozambique, stated that the collaboration aims to make public transport easier to understand and use by consolidating essential information into a single digital interface.
