Yango Group reports improved road safety and reduced incidents in Latin America
Yango Group has released its annual Yango Ride Safety Report, which includes new data regarding its operations in Latin America. The report highlights a significant reduction in safety-related incidents across the region due to the implementation of new technologies between 2024 and 2025.
Key findings include a 31.2% decrease in application-associated incidents in the region. Specifically, incidents related to reckless driving in Latin America dropped from 11.77 to 8.91 per million trips. The platform also reported a 31% global reduction in incidents caused by reckless driving and a similar decrease in serious traffic violations.
To improve user security and reduce disputes, Yango implemented privacy-protecting calling technologies. This resulted in a decrease in post-trip contacts between passengers and drivers, with reductions of 70% in Bolivia, 78% in Colombia, and 81% in Peru. Additionally, the company's anti-fraud systems blocked 9,784 suspicious passenger profiles.
