Yangon Archbishop calls youth to be missionaries of hope

During a gathering of over 1,650 children and adolescents in Twantay, Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, Archbishop of Yangon, called on the youth to act as ‘missionaries of hope’ amidst the suffering and difficulties in Myanmar.

Presiding over the World Mission Sunday celebration at the Assumption Catholic Church, the Cardinal emphasized that evangelization is not a task reserved solely for clergy or adults. He encouraged children to share the love of Jesus through daily actions, such as welcoming lonely classmates, sharing food with the needy, and supporting those facing bullying or exclusion.

The Archbishop noted that the missionary path begins in homes, schools, and parishes by serving families, praying for the suffering, and promoting peace and friendship among people of different backgrounds and religions.
