Yangpyeong County hosts youth policy market to integrate student ideas

Yangpyeong County recently concluded its ‘2026 Yangpyeong County Youth Policy Market,’ an event designed to incorporate fresh ideas from young people into local government administration. Held from the 25th to the 28th, the market allowed students to propose solutions to community issues they identified personally.

During the event, 22 policy proposals were submitted. Residents participated in a public voting process using stickers to show support for specific ideas, resulting in approximately 1,200 votes. Yangpyeong County officials, including Mayor Jeon Jin-seon and the head of the Yangpyeong Education Support Office, attended to engage with the students.

The county plans to review the feasibility of these proposals through relevant departments and potentially link them with the resident participatory budgeting system to ensure successful implementation.
