Yangtze Memory Technologies Denies Patent Invalidity Rumors, Defends Ongoing Micron Lawsuit
On July 29, Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC) issued a statement rejecting circulating rumors that the US Patent and Trademark Office had declared all 19 claims of its core 3D NAND patents invalid. The company labeled the claim as "seriously misleading" and also dismissed reports that related stocks had crashed as fabricated. YMTC clarified that since November 2023 it has filed a patent‑infringement lawsuit against Micron Technology in the United States, covering 27 patents and 295 claims, which remains under review in several federal courts. The firm pledged to continue independent innovation, comply with regulations, protect its intellectual property, and will take legal action against parties spreading false information.
