Yani Makulev challenges forensic findings in Okolchitsa tragedy

Yani Makulev, the father of 15-year-old Alexander Makulev, has formally challenged the forensic findings and prosecution procedures regarding the deaths of his son, Ivaylo Kalushev, and Nikolay Zlatkov near Okolchitsa Peak.

Makulev is requesting the removal of expert Dr. Aleksandar Aleksandrov and criminal psychologist Rosen Yordanov from the case. He disputes a forensic report alleging sexual violence, claiming it contradicts initial morgue examinations which found no signs of trauma. The family has expressed deep indignation over the public disclosure of intimate details during a recent prosecution briefing, calling it a violation of the deceased's dignity.

In response to the prosecution's findings, the family intends to seek an exhumation and new DNA testing. Furthermore, Makulev attributes the tragedy not to Kalushev, but to environmentalist Atanas Rusev, alleging that Rusev filed false reports of pedophilia against Kalushev, which led to the fatal events.
