Yanis Marshall reveals HIV-positive status

Yanis Marshall, a dancer, choreographer, and former Star Academy instructor, has publicly revealed that he is HIV positive. The announcement coincides with the promotion of his upcoming book, titled ‘Je vous conseille de ne pas le dire’, which is scheduled for release on November 5, 2026.

Marshall stated that his intention is not to seek compassion or provoke controversy, but to change public perception regarding HIV. He emphasized that being HIV positive does not mean being ‘condemned or broken’, asserting that individuals living with the condition can continue to love, create, and succeed. In his message, he expressed a desire to speak openly about topics often hidden from view, describing himself as a survivor rather than a victim.
