Swiss footballer Yann Sommer has announced his separation from his wife, Alina, after seven years of marriage. In a personal statement shared on Instagram, the 37-year-old former Bayern Munich goalkeeper revealed that the decision to part ways was made earlier this year by mutual consent.

Sommer noted that the couple looks back on their time together with “respect and gratitude.” He emphasized that their two daughters remain their primary priority, stating, “Our two daughters will connect us forever. Their happiness and well-being continue to be our top priority.”
