During a public hearing of the Yanomami Permanent Subcommittee in the Brazilian Senate, officials and indigenous representatives debated the management of resources for the Yanomami Indigenous Territory. Minister of Indigenous Peoples Eloy Terena reported that the government has delivered over 56,000 food baskets to more than 400 strategic points in the region, noting the complex aerial logistics required to reach remote communities.

Senator Damares Alves, chair of the Human Rights Commission, called for greater transparency regarding the execution of funds from specific provisional measures, including MP 209/2024, which was converted into Law 14,922/2024. Alves emphasized the need to clarify how the indigenous health budget is being utilized. Participants also highlighted ongoing challenges in health, education, and food security within the 9.66 million hectare territory located in Roraima and Amazonas.
