Yantai advances water security planning and urban transport projects

Yantai officials are advancing major infrastructure developments focused on water security and urban transportation. The Yantai Water Resources Bureau recently held a government open day to discuss the “15th Five-Year Plan for Water Security,” which aims to achieve significant progress in water resource modernization by 2030. The plan focuses on flood prevention, urban-rural water supply, water conservation, and smart water management systems.

Simultaneously, Yantai Mayor Zhang Mingkang conducted site inspections of key urban construction and transportation projects. These include the China Railway Weiyan Railway project, the Yantai South Station supporting road networks, and the Yantai South Locomotive Depot. Zhang emphasized the need to accelerate construction timelines, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure high engineering quality to improve regional connectivity and public travel convenience.
