Yantai launches its own gas‑appliance brand Blue Sky Gratle

Yantai, a coastal city in eastern China, is introducing a locally developed gas‑appliance line called Blue Sky Gratle. The brand is a partnership between the municipal gas provider, Yantai Blue Sky NewAo Gas, and the established Gratle brand of Xin'ao Group. It is designed to meet Yantai’s specific climate challenges—sea‑spray corrosion, strong winter winds and high humidity—that accelerate wear on standard appliances.

The new products will be priced at roughly one‑third of leading national brands and will be supported by the provider’s 24‑hour service hotline (95158). The launch, scheduled for August, follows years of infrastructure upgrades in Yantai, including the replacement of coal‑gas with natural gas, extensive pipeline modernisation and the addition of multiple gas supply sources.

The initiative aims to improve safety and reliability for more than a million households that rely on gas cooking, offering locally tailored design, quicker after‑sales response and a lower‑cost alternative to imported models.
