Yantai Party Secretary Jiang Cheng outlines summer power safety plan and service‑industry boost

Yantai Party Secretary Jiang Cheng, also deputy director of the Shandong Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee, inspected the city’s power‑dispatch centre and ongoing transmission projects on August 4. He stressed the need to tighten high‑temperature weather forecasting, accelerate upgrades of old distribution networks, expand renewable‑energy integration and reinforce emergency response to keep electricity supply stable during the summer peak. Jiang also visited a residential‑area power‑upgrade site and urged workers to observe heat‑protection measures.

At the same time, Jiang chaired a city‑wide meeting on high‑quality service‑industry development. He called the sector the main engine of Yantai’s economy and directed officials to strengthen traditional pillars such as trade, finance and logistics while expanding emerging areas like technology services, digital consumption, tourism, health‑care and green‑energy services. The meeting emphasized coordinated policy support, project investment and a “treat service‑industry like industry” mindset to double the sector’s contribution to growth and public welfare.
