Yanuar Arif receives Banyumas Figure of 2026 award

Yanuar Arif, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) representing the Central Java 8 constituency, has been named one of the ‘10 Banyumas Figures of 2026’ by Forum Banyumas. The recognition was presented during the ‘Temu Gagasan’ event held in Purwokerto on August 28.

The award recognizes Arif’s role in mobilizing the community and advocating for the rights of citizens in the Banyumas and Cilacap regencies. Forum Banyumas stated that the selection was based on consistent contribution and tangible actions over the past year rather than mere popularity or official position.

Key achievements cited include the activation of the Kebasen railway station in December 2024, the normalization of the Pelus River in Ledug in February 2025, and successful advocacy to maintain Trans Banyumas bus operations following subsidy cuts. Other noted contributions include the construction of the permanent Sidabowa bridge and the reconstruction of the Lopasir bridge.
