Yaquis de Obregón begin preseason training for LMP 2026-27

The Yaquis de Obregón have officially begun their preseason training in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, in preparation for the 2026-2027 Liga Mexicana del Pacífico (LMP) season. The initial training sessions, which focus on fundamentals, are being led by bench coach Sergio Omar Gastélum and the technical staff in the absence of manager José Mosquera.

More than 50 players have been called for the Summer Camp, creating internal competition to secure spots on the final roster. Notable players participating in the early sessions include Roberto ‘Tito’ Valenzuela, Samuel Zazueta, Fernando Flores, Víctor Márquez, and Alfredo Hurtado.

The team is scheduled to train at home for approximately two weeks before embarking on a tour. This includes a trip to Nogales to face the Naranjeros de Hermosillo on September 24, followed by a series of games in the United States. The Yaquis will play in Phoenix, Arizona, from September 25 to 27, and in Tucson from October 1 to 4. The team will return to Mexico to finalize preparations before their season opener against the Mayos de Navojoa on October 14.
