Yara Gambirasio murder hearing set for Oct 5 in Bergamo court
A new hearing has been scheduled for 5 October before the Corte d’Assise of Bergamo, acting as the execution judge in the Yara Gambirasio murder case. The hearing, requested by the defence of convicted killer Massimo Bossetti, will be held in camera and focuses on the re‑examination of forensic evidence and biological samples retained from the 2010 investigation.
Bossetti’s lawyers, led by Claudio Salvagni and Paolo Camporini, have asked the court to permit a detailed review of the preserved material, the acquisition of technical documentation, and the release of anonymised genetic characterisations. Bossetti, who maintains his innocence, will be able to participate remotely via video link from prison, while prosecutors and the victim’s family lawyers may file memoranda before the session. The court’s decision is viewed as a crucial step for the defence’s search for new insights into the case.
