Yara Piedra to represent Mexico at IMAF MMA World Championship

Yara Piedra Castro, a 15-year-old mixed martial arts athlete from Veracruz, Mexico, will compete in the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMAF) World Championship in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. She is the only female representative from Veracruz participating in the event.

Piedra will be accompanied by 16-year-old teammate Martín Morales Vera. Under the guidance of coach Guillermo Ricardo Piedra García, the athletes have been training four to five hours daily to prepare for the competition. Piedra, who has five years of experience in the sport, cited former UFC champion Alexa Grasso as a primary inspiration and expressed her long-term goal of competing in the UFC.
