Yaracuy authorities arrest two brothers for homicide

The Venezuelan scientific police (Cicpc) have arrested two brothers for the homicide of 35-year-old Eladio José Oviedo Linares in Yaracuy state. The suspects, identified as José Antonio Lugo Cordero and Alvis Manuel Lugo Cordero, were apprehended following an investigation in the Manuel Monge municipality.

According to authorities, the incident occurred after a gathering involving alcohol. When Oviedo Linares attempted to leave the location, the brothers allegedly followed him and physically assaulted him after he refused to continue socializing. Investigators state that the suspects attempted to deceive authorities by transporting the victim to a local clinic to make it appear as though they were providing medical assistance.

José Antonio Lugo Cordero has a prior criminal record for physical violence. Both men have been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry to proceed with the judicial process.
