Yaracuy producers target international avocado exports

Agricultural producers in Yaracuy, Venezuela, are developing commercial strategies to export local avocado harvests to markets in Asia, Europe, and North America. Maxwell Piña, president of the Association of Avocado Producers of Yaracuy, stated that the region's climatic and geographic conditions allow for continuous cultivation and meet the quality standards required for global trade.

To facilitate international entry, producers are focusing on technical certification, protected geographical indications, and optimizing the supply chain. Key efforts include improving packaging, thermal processing, and air and sea logistics to ensure product freshness and compliance with international phytosanitary regulations.
