Yaser Asani omitted from Albania national team squad

Albanian winger Yaser Asani, currently playing for Esteghlal, has been omitted from the 29-man Albania national team squad selected by coach Rolando Maran for upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Belarus, Finland, and San Marino.

Despite his strong recent form, including scoring goals in the Iranian Premier League against Sepahan and Persepolis, as well as performing well in the AFC Champions League against Al-Sadd, Asani was not included in the roster. This decision follows a previous exclusion where the coach cited a lack of recent competitive minutes, a reasoning that appears challenged by Asani's current regular playing status and goal-scoring record.

Asani responded to the omission via social media with sarcastic posts, stating, “For now I will remain silent, because I know myself,” and “History is never forgotten.”
