Sanjay Gupta questions smoking depictions on Bollywood film posters

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has raised concerns regarding the frequent depiction of lead actors smoking on Bollywood film posters. Sharing posters for the films ‘Animal’, ‘Dhurandhar’, and ‘Love and War’, Gupta pointed out that actors Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Vicky Kaushal are all shown with cigarettes.

Gupta questioned the effectiveness of anti-smoking messages shown to audiences in cinemas if the promotional materials for the films themselves promote smoking. His comments sparked a debate on social media, with some users noting the irony of his past work, while others criticized the industry for associating smoking with masculinity.
