Yashasvi Jaiswal faces scrutiny over form during India's Test against Sri Lanka

Former cricketers Venkatapathy Raju and Ravichandran Ashwin have commented on the recent dip in form of Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.

In the second innings, Jaiswal was dismissed for a three-ball duck after attempting a cut shot against Asitha Fernando. Raju noted that while playing shots square of the wicket is a strength for Jaiswal, it has also become a weakness, suggesting the batter needs to spend more time at the crease to adjust to the pitch's bounce.

Ashwin expressed concern over Jaiswal's recent statistics, noting the player has only one fifty in his last eight Test innings and has recorded three ducks within a year. Despite the slump, Ashwin backed the talented opener to recover his form in the upcoming second Test.
