Yash's 'Toxic' action thriller receives 18 rating in UK

The upcoming pan-India action thriller ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’, starring Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas, is generating significant anticipation ahead of its August 26 release. The film, set in Goa during the final years of Portuguese colonial rule, follows a powerful drug cartel leader.

Promotional efforts have intensified with the release of an English-language trailer. The film has received an ‘A’ certificate from India’s Central Board of Film Certification and an 18 rating in the UK, with the British Board of Film Classification flagging high levels of violence, sex, and injury detail.

Lead actor Yash has described the project as a film for mature audiences, addressing discussions regarding the movie's intense themes and intimate scenes. Co-star Kiara Advani has also commented on the experience of playing her character, Nadia, noting that the role pushed her beyond her comfort zone.

Industry experts are monitoring the film's box office potential, noting that with a reported budget of Rs. 800 crores, it faces the challenge of surpassing previous pan-India blockbusters like ‘Pushpa 2’ to ensure a successful opening.
