Yasmine Sabri discusses career evolution and industry stability

Egyptian actress Yasmine Sabri shared insights into her career trajectory and personal philosophy during an appearance on the ‘Moed Ma Lamis’ podcast with journalist Lamis Elhadidy.

Sabri revealed that her entry into acting was unplanned, noting that she originally aspired to be a media presenter due to her curiosity about people’s lives. She described her participation in the ‘Miss Egypt’ competition as a strategic attempt to find a professional path, though she noted that not completing the pageant was ultimately beneficial for her.

Reflecting on her professional growth, Sabri identified the series ‘Tariqi’ as the moment she first experienced public recognition. She expressed a preference for cinema over television drama, citing the flexibility it offers to pursue other business interests. Sabri also emphasized the importance of financial security for artists, advocating for rights such as public performance royalties to ensure long-term stability.

Regarding her colleague Sherine Abdel Wahab, Sabri expressed support, stating that individuals must ultimately be their own saviors to overcome personal crises.
