Yasser Al-Masoud highlights role of business law in Saudi investment

Yasser Al-Masoud, a business law advisor and founder of Taqadi International, hosted a media dialogue in Riyadh to discuss the role of business law in supporting Saudi Arabia’s economic decisions and investment attractiveness. The discussion focused on how legal frameworks can anticipate risks and ensure business sustainability in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.

Al-Masoud emphasized that law in a business environment serves as a foundation for trust and decision quality rather than just a tool for post-dispute protection. He noted that investment decisions are intrinsically linked to ownership, governance, compliance, and dispute resolution mechanisms.

According to the discussions, Saudi Arabia has seen significant growth in foreign direct investment (FDI). FDI inflows rose from 28.1 billion riyals in 2017 to 119.2 billion riyals in 2024, while the total FDI stock grew from 501.8 billion riyals to over 1 trillion riyals during the same period. Al-Masoud highlighted that international investors seek predictable legal environments that protect rights throughout the investment cycle.
