Yassine Zaabiri leads Racing Santander to victory over Espanyol

Moroccan striker Yassine Zaabiri secured a vital 2-1 victory for Racing Santander against Espanyol, scoring the winning goal in the 84th minute. The win ends a string of negative results for Santander and provides a significant boost to their standing in the league table.

Zaabiri has demonstrated exceptional form this season, scoring eight goals in just ten matches. This performance places him third in the La Liga top scorers list, trailing only Raphinha and Kylian Mbappé, and tying with Lamine Yamal. Having joined Santander on loan from French club Rennes, the striker is nearing his pre-season goal of reaching ten league goals.

The defeat increases pressure on Espanyol manager Manuel Gonzalez. Meanwhile, Racing Santander prepares for a major upcoming test against Real Madrid at the El Sardinero stadium.
