Yassir Zabiri scores hat-trick in Racing Santander victory
Yassir Zabiri scored a hat-trick in his first La Liga start to lead Racing Santander to a 3-2 victory over Elche CF. The 21-year-old Moroccan striker, on loan from Rennes, scored his three goals within a 21-minute span during the first half, specifically in the 15th, 21st, and 36th minutes. His first goal followed a mistake by Elche goalkeeper Matías Dituro.
Despite Zabiri’s dominant first-half performance, Elche mounted a late comeback in the second half. Buba Sangaré and Fer Niño scored within one minute of each other in the 78th and 79th minutes to narrow the gap, but Racing Santander held on for the win. This victory marks Racing Santander’s first win in La Liga in 14 years.
