Yassir Zabiri scores hat-trick to lead Racing Santander to victory

Moroccan international Yassir Zabiri has been named to the La Liga Team of the Week following a standout performance for Racing Santander. During the third round of the Spanish league, the 20-year-old scored a hat-trick in just 21 minutes to lead his team to a 3-2 victory over Elche.

The win marks Racing Santander’s first victory of the season. By scoring three goals in a single match, Zabiri joins an elite group of players in the club’s history to achieve such a feat at the top level of Spanish football.

Zabiri joined Racing Santander on loan from Stade Rennais on July 29 to secure more playing time. A graduate of the Mohammed VI Football Academy, he previously played for KAC Marrakech, Union Touarga, and FC Famalicão.
