Yasu Wöhrn suffers ACL injury at Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund defender Yasu Wöhrn has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during a friendly match against AS Roma. An MRI confirmed the injury, which will require surgery and will sideline the 22-year-old for several months, likely missing at least the first half of the upcoming season.

Wöhrn is the fourth squad player for BVB to face a long-term absence due to an ACL injury. She joins goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger, striker Dana Marquardt, and midfielder Mia Scholle, who are currently in rehabilitation.

Due to these injuries, coach Markus Högner will need to restructure the defense for the season opener against Arminia Bielefeld. Available defensive options include Frederike Kempe, Lara Schmidt, and Melanie Schuster, with Paula Reimann, Lena Ostermeier, or Jacqueline Meißner also potentially available to play centrally.
