Japan announces major entertainment events including Dragon Quest exhibition and horror festival

Several major entertainment events have been announced in Japan. The Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary exhibition, ‘Dragon Quest the DIVE - To an Unseen Adventure Stage -’, is scheduled to take place in Osaka from January 26 to March 14, 2027, at Grand Front Osaka. Following a successful Tokyo run that drew over 90,000 visitors, the event will feature the ‘Dragon Quest VR RIDE’ immersive attraction and a collaboration cafe.

Additionally, Tokyo Dome City will host ‘Tokyo Horror Special District!! 2026’ from September 11 to 13, 2026. The event features guests from the film ‘Gremlins’, including director Joe Dante and actor Zach Galligan. A photo session featuring the original Gizmo puppet from ‘Gremlins 2’ is also planned. The festival will also see the revival of the Tokyo International Fantastic Film Festival after a 21-year hiatus.
