Yatri P2 electric scooter launched in Nepal

Sipradi Yatri has launched the Yatri P2, an electric scooter designed and engineered in Nepal. Unveiled by Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle at the NADA Auto Show 2026, the vehicle is manufactured at a factory in Gajuri, Dhading, following design work in Budhanilkantha.

The Yatri P2 is offered with three battery options: 3.0 kWh, 3.7 kWh, and 5.2 kWh. The 5.2 kWh model features a 10kW peak power motor and can achieve a range of up to 157 km, which can be extended to 207 km using a range extender. The scooter is designed to handle Nepal’s diverse terrain, including hills and plains.

Key technical specifications include a top speed of 90 km/h, IP67 water protection, and thermal runaway protection for the battery. DC fast-charging can bring the battery to 80% capacity in approximately 41 minutes. Dr. Wagle noted that the project serves as a demonstration of domestic manufacturing capability and entrepreneurship in Nepal.
