Yatsumura Mura film premiere held in Tokyo

The Japan premiere for the film ‘Yatsumura Mura’ was held in Tokyo, marking a new adaptation of Seishi Yokomizo’s mystery classic. The film, directed by Takashi Shimizu, reimagines the original Showa-era setting for the Reiwa era and celebrates the 80th anniversary of the character Kosuke Kindaichi.

Lead actor Matsuya Onoe expressed excitement about the new version, while co-stars Tomoya Oku, Mayu Hotta, and Riko Nagase discussed the film’s atmosphere and production. The cast highlighted the visual impact of the film, noting that it combines mystery with intense, modern cinematic elements.

Actor Masanobu Takashima also attended a special talk stage, describing the film’s visuals as both terrifying and beautiful. He shared his experience filming in remote locations and his creative rapport with director Shimizu, noting that he occasionally shares his own horror-themed poems and stories with the director.
