Yatsushiro City certifies student startup project for regional revitalization

A student project from Kumamoto National College of Technology has been officially certified under the ‘Yatsushiro City Furusato Startup Support Project’. The project, led by a student group called ‘Sakusen Kaigishitsu’, aims to address regional issues such as the decline of shopping districts and the outflow of young people from the area.

Through this initiative, the group will utilize hometown tax-style crowdfunding to raise funds. Their goal is to collect 1.5 million yen over three months to establish and operate a co-working space specifically for high school students and to implement various plans to revitalize local shopping streets.
