Yaxel Lendeborg shines in Warriors' Summer League debut vs Lakers

Yaxel Lendeborg, the No. 11 pick of the 2026 NBA draft, made his first appearance in a Golden State Warriors uniform during the California Classic Summer League at San Francisco’s Chase Center. In the opening game against the Los Angeles Lakers, the 6‑foot‑9 forward logged 22 minutes, scored 19 points on perfect shooting (6‑for‑6 overall, including 4‑for‑4 from three‑point range), added five rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block, and earned applause from the crowd.

The Warriors, fielding a roster that also featured fellow rookie Lajae Jones and veterans such as Malevy Leons and Will Richard, used Lendeborg’s versatile performance as a gauge for roster decisions ahead of the 2026‑27 season. Lakers rookie Cameron Carr also debuted, matching Lendeborg’s early scoring surge. The game highlighted the Warriors’ expectation that Lendeborg can contribute both on the perimeter and inside the paint.
