Yaya Fofana named Ligue 2 Player of the Month for September

Yaya Fofana of Stade de Reims has been named the UNFP Ligue 2 Player of the Month for September. The 21-year-old Ivorian midfielder secured the award with 46% of the vote, following a prolific run where he scored four goals in three matches, including a brace against Guingamp.

Fofana's victory came ahead of Augustine Boakye of AS Saint-Etienne, who received 33% of the votes, and Damien Durand of Red Star, who received 21%. Boakye had been a strong contender after recording four goals and three assists in seven matches, but he missed out on succeeding his teammate Irvin Cardona, who held the title for August.
