Yaya Touré makes Champions League history with Slovan Bratislava

Former footballer Yaya Touré has made history as the first African coach to lead a team into the UEFA Champions League league phase.

Touré, who signed a three-year contract with Slovan Bratislava last June, achieved this milestone following his team's victory over the Slovenian side Celje. Slovan Bratislava secured a 2-1 win in extra time to qualify for the competition's new 36-team format.

At 43 years old, Touré has transitioned from a highly successful playing career to management, emphasizing discipline, professionalism, and tactical adherence in his early weeks with the club.
