Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia launches PDN 2026 to address social etiquette crisis
Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM) has announced the Program Dakwah Negara (PDN) 2026, scheduled to begin this October. Under the theme “Membina Adab Membangun Negara” (Building Etiquette, Developing the Nation), the initiative aims to address a perceived crisis of social etiquette and politeness within society.
The program follows concerns raised by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, in his capacity as Chairman of the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs (MKI). The Sultan expressed deep concern regarding a decline in manners, particularly how differing opinions frequently escalate into hostility. He emphasized the need for the community to revive respectful communication, noting that disagreement should not necessitate insults or public shaming.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed support for these sentiments, reinforcing the importance of maintaining decorum and wisdom when defending truths or engaging in discourse.
