Yayoi Kusama exhibition shatters visitor record at Cologne's Ludwig Museum

The 97‑year‑old Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama drew nearly half a million visitors to her solo show at the Ludwig Museum in Cologne, Germany, setting a new attendance record for the institution. The exhibition featured more than 300 works, including surrealist sculptures and an infinite‑mirror room that created a striking visual experience, prompting long queues that wrapped around the museum building.

Following the record‑breaking run in Germany, the show is scheduled to travel to a museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where it will open in mid‑September, extending its impact across Europe.
