Yazmeed Mohamed appointed CEO of Maldives Pension Office

The Maldives Pension Administration Office Board has appointed Yazmeed Mohamed as its new Chief Executive Officer for a five-year term. His tenure is scheduled to begin on 23 August 2026.

Yazmeed brings extensive experience in governance, auditing, anti-corruption, and financial management. His previous roles include serving as Vice-President of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Commissioner at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), and Audit Manager at the Auditor General’s Office. He also recently contested parliamentary elections as a candidate for the People's National Congress (PNC).

An ACC-certified Chartered Accountant, Yazmeed holds an MBA from Open University Malaysia and a First-Class Honours degree in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University. The Board expects his leadership to enhance organizational effectiveness and institutional governance as the agency works toward a sustainable national pension system.

This leadership change follows a period of transition at the Pension Office, which recently saw several board members and senior officials resign following a decision regarding a MVR 2.4 billion bond investment involving the Maldives Monetary Authority.
